The Brothers are making a total of 4 different wines. Their main focus is Sauvignon Blanc. They make three very distinctive styles of Sauvignon Blanc at three different price levels.These are not your typical herbal, cat pee wines typically found in Marlborough. Awatere wines have a distinctive style - fresher and brighter, more delicate and elegant, with a minerality not found elsewhere in Marlborough. The Ranga Ranga is made from 100% Blind River fruit but only 50% comes from their vineyard. The rest of the fruit comes from 2 vineyards in Blind River where they buy fruit. “We recognize the benefits of bringing flavours from outside our own vineyard into the winemaking mix.”-winery website. They put together different blends then taste the wines blind and choose the final blend from the majority vote. Clean, crisp and only slightly grassy. Many New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs are just too grassy for me. I like to taste some fruit also. This wine has lovely tropical fruit flavors especially some pineapple and lime. It is zesty, zingy and juicy. Very refreshing. - Kristin
