The 30 year old vines are carefully tended to produce low yields, hence production is less than 1,500 cases of this Saint-Estephe Petite Chateau. 2005 was an excellent vintage with ample ripeness. The Blend is 50/50 Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot all hand harvested and selected.Tthe wine is aged in oak barrels, 25% new. We were particularly excited by the immediate charm of this wine. Deep, almost black in color with a very rich and expressive nose of coffee and very ripe black fruits underplayed with distinctive vanillin-oak notes. On the palate, the wine is round, almost opulent, well balanced and harmonious. Finding Saint-Estephe of this quality at this price is a near impossibility. This wine is truly an excellent value!

  • Chateau La Fleur de Surget 2005 -- "It is set apart by the complexity of its nose of ripe red fruit and dried fruit, with hints of vanilla, spice and liquorice typical of well handled barrel aging. In the mouth, all is power and balance, full bodied and full of fruit with well integrated . . .

  • Chateau Livran Medoc 2005 -- Dark red, slim red rim. Classic Medoc nose with pencil and red fruit but also some green notes. The same in the mouth. A rustic/coarse example of Medoc made in the old style. Food Pairings: Delicate Lamb Dishes

  • Chateau Mylord Bordeaux 2006 -- "This delicious, supple, fruity vin gourmande reveals surprisingly good cherry and mountain berry fruit as well as fine texture and length. Not far off the pace of its delicious predecessor, it should be enjoyed over the next 2-3 years.  Good value." . . .

  • Les Sieurs de Bellegrave 2002 -- This wine is medium bodied. Its tannins have softened. The wine is delicate, with a soft bouquet of cherries, rose petal and violets. The wine is very elegant and the flavors are subtle. It is a pretty wine, not a blockbuster but lovely. So many wines . . .
