Tait The Ball Buster Proprietary Red "The Ball Buster blend has been an annual Best Buy and, even at the current asking price, the 2007 The Ball Buster is an awesome value (at least for hedonists). It is composed of 72% Shiraz, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 11% Merlot aged for 12 months in seasoned French and American oak. Opaque purple-colored, it has a nose of cedar, leather, spice box, and blueberry that leaps from the glass. This is followed by a plush, full-bodied wine with gobs of flavor and superior length. This easy-to-understand effort defines the meaning of over-delivering and will do so for another four years." - Jay Miller, The Wine Advocate

Cheese Pairings:  Gouda, Parmesan, Pecorino

Food Pairings:  Grilled Flat Iron Steak with Mushroom Ragout, Barbecue Spareribs, Roasted Lamb Shanks

Other products in the category Australia / Red:

  • Misfits Wine Company Brujeria -- "The 2007 Brujera is a blend of 66% Shiraz, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, with the balance Grenache and Tempranillo. Dark ruby-colored, it emits an attractive aromatic array of spice box, violets, black cherry, and blueberry. Smooth-textured, ripe, and elegant on the palate, this forward, savory wine will evolve for another 1-2 years but can be enjoyed now." -Wine Advocate "Medium-weight, with crisp texture to support the ripe cherry and delicate herbal flavors, lingering well. Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache and Tempranillo. 1,800 cases made." -Wine Spectator

  • Small Gully Mr. Black's Concoction -- A fruit forward palate with loads of flavour, deep rich and intense showing blackberry fruit overlayed with mocca and leathery tannins

  • Some Young Punks "Drink 'n' Stick" -- "The 2007 Drink N Stick is a blend of 59% Mataro and 41% Shiraz. Its alluring nose offers up underbrush, spice box, and blueberry. Racy on the palate, it has ample savory fruit, good balance, and a lengthy finish. Give it 1-2 years of additional cellaring and drink it from 2011 to 2019. The garish, comic book-styled labels are as interesting as the names selected for these excellent wines." -Wine Advocate   "The whiff and the swill did us in and all that was left to do was to make more. This is Passion, a monster bigger than the three of us that leads us to soapbox, grandstand, and sometimes have to sleep on the couch." -Winemaker's Notes
